  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;

Module learning aims:

The main aim of the lecture is to introduce most important cultures and social and political structures, which were developed during the Bronze Age in the Aegean. It will be stressed the role played by the Mycenaean culture for the development of European civilization. There will be also discussed the main archaeological sites of the Aegean Bronze Age.

Full description:

The lecture focuses on cultural processes going on in the Aegean during the Bronze Age: beginning of Minoan culture, its classical phase and down, relationships with Mycenaean culture, significant of Mycenaean culture for the beginnings of European civilization, an exchange and trade of Aegean with other regions of the Near East and Europe, also with the northern and central part of the continent.
