  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

The main aim of the course is to acquaint students with the developement of the XIX and XX c. Lithuanian Literature with the wide cultural context of literature and culture of European countries

The course introduces fundamental information about the lithuanian literature since XIX till the early beginnings of XX century.

Student:

- has the main knowledge of the history of literature of this period

- can name and analyse the main trends and literary genre of this time

- is able to analyse and knows main literary works and artists of this epoque

- can work individualy, preparing speaches, presentations and with the group of people

- is able to take part in discussion

- understands the specific role of folklore and tradition in developement of every literature process

after successefully finishing the course, the student:

- has the main knowledge of the history of literature of this period

- can name and analyse the main trends and literary genre of this time

- is able to analyse and knows main literary works and artists of this epoque

- can work individualy, preparing speaches, presentations and with the group of people

- is able to take part in discussion

- understands the specific role of folklore and tradition in developement of every literature process

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Active participation in the course. Passing the final test; writing a term essay on a selected topic.

The final grade based on the result of a written and oral exam.
