Brief description

The course aims to provide the students with ordered and chronologically presented knowledge of the European history with regards the state ands law. Students will first familiarise themselves with ancient and medieval philosophers, and will later move on to the analysis of contemporary political doctrines. The acquired knowledge should enable the students to analyse the current political doctrines, to recognise their sources and to infer their potential legal and political consequences.

Brief description

(in Polish) Celem wykładu jest ukazanie genezy najważniejszych instytucji i zasad współczesnego prawa, przede wszystkim tych, które wykraczają poza ramy jednego systemu.

W czasie ćwiczeń (lub samodzielnie) student winien opanować podstawy egzegezy tekstu prawnego i umiejętności porównywania instytucji w różnych aktach prawnych.

Wiedza i umiejętności powinny stanowić podstawę do sbododnego odczytywania tekstów prawnych i zrozumienia (często zmieniającego się) prawa.

(in Polish) Wykład przybliża najważniejsze modele ustrojowe występujące w dziejach państwa, a także szczegółowo przedstawia konkretne instytucje polityczne - takie jak monarcha, parlament, zarząd centralny i terytorialny, sądy - ukazując ich genezę, ewolucję i ewentualną ciągłość historyczną. Zasięgiem geograficznym wykład obejmuje przede wszystkim kraje europejskie, Stany Zjednoczone, a odnośnie czasów starożytnych również cały basen Morza Śródziemnego.
