Module learning aims: | Defining the aims of learning and teaching a foreign language (L2) in primary and secondary school; Providing students with knowledge about basic principles of L2 teaching in the communicative approach; Providing students with the principles of language use (including the use of the native language) by the teacher in an L2 lesson; Acquainting students with the principles and techniques of introducing and practicing new language (vocabulary and grammar); Providing students with the principles of planning and organizing L2 courses and lessons. |

Learning outcomes: |
After completing the course, the student: Knows the aims of teaching English in the Polish school at primary and secondary levels in relation to educational documentation; Can select the right teaching materials for a given group of learners, considering their specific needs; Can formulate explanations, questions, instructions and feedback in L2 and L1, taking into account learners' level; Can organize work in the classroom; Knows the principles and techniques of introducing and practicing language subsystems (vocabulary and grammar); Can plan an L2 lesson with the use of appropriately selected audiovisual aids. |
