  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Module learning aims:

The aim of this course is to make students familiar with the development of Korean literature until the early twentieth century, the new literary trends over the centuries, the development of women's poetry and literature also about the decrease in popularity of Chinese literature, the context of the development of world literature.

The development of Korean literature: from myth until the early twentieth century, a new literary trends over the centuries, the development of women's poetry and literature, the development of universal literature.

Full description:

The oldest titles in Korean literature - Samgug Samguk Yusa and saga. Chinese classics. Women's Literature. Korean prose.

Literature of the occupation - poetry as an attempt to fight for national identity. Poetry: the trends, forms and main representatives. Industrial novel and modern prose.

Characteristics of periods, literary trends.

- The place of Korean literature among other literatures

- The role of small nations in the development of culture

Learning outcomes:

The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the place and importance of literature in the history of Korean literature and Asian literature. Knows basic themes, concepts, terms and issues concerning research on Korean literature. Has an ordered and detailed knowledge of the literature in Korean cultural area. Has the ability to prepare typical essays and speeches in Polish, on issues related to the literature of Korea. Is fully aware of the cultural heritage of Korea and demonstrates and open mind in learning and exploring different cultural phenomena.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Methods: The evaluation of extra-curricular objectives, written or oral final exam, written semester credit, current control during classes.

Conditions: passing written tests (minimum 60.01%) along with semester test, the final result of the evaluation is on the basis of a written or oral exam(<60% - ndst, 60,01-70% dst, dst + 71-75%, 76 -85% db, db + 86-90%, 91% <bdb). 2 unexcused absences possible per semester. A semester essay on chosen topic in the scope of the subject.
