Short description:	This course on Latvian syntax includes the following topics: Introduction of basic notions: word classes and syntactic functions in the traditional understanding; syntactic constructions; phrases and phrase structure Noun phrases: types of noun modifiers; word order in the noun phrase; constructions with numerals; adjective and participle phrases as parts of the NP; definiteness. Clauses: clause, sentence, utterance; clause types; valency; non-verbal predication; grammatical relations; valency changing processes; impersonal clauses; infinitive constructions; adverbials; word-order. Complex constructions: complex sentences; participle clauses and converbs
Full description:	(in Polish) Studenci uzyskują wiedzę na temat składni języka łotewskiego; poznają terminologię łotewską oraz polską; zapoznają się z źródłami gramatyki opisowej języka łotewskiego; nabywają umiejętność krytycznego czytania oraz dyskusji; zdobywają wiedzę, która pozwala na analizę zdań ze względu na system składniowy języka itp.
