Module learning aims: | Providing knowledge concerning theoretical and practical application of gender and sexuality concepts (cultural anthropology and other social sciences) Presentation of diversity gender theories Providing knowledge concerning gender studies and feminist anthropology Introducing students to ambiguities sex and gender categories Providing knowledge concerning social and performative construction of femininity and masculinity concepts in different cultural contexts. Providing knowledge concerning connection between gender concept and kinship and family studies. Providing knowledge concerning relationship between gender, religion, language and state. |

Learning outcomes: |
Upon completion of the course, the student will: Understands difference between sex and gender categories. Understands rules of social and performative constructing gender in different cultural contexts. Is able to use key categories in gender studies and feminist anthropology. Is aware of connection between gender and other fields of socio-cultural reality. Is able to deconstruct mechanisms of gender production and contestation. Is able to integrate different research and theoretical perspective on gender issues. Is informed about development of interest in gender within anthropology and other social sciences. Is able to capture, describe and analyze relationships between gender and other fields of socio-cultural reality. |
