  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

Module learning aims:

The main objectives :

1. Acquisition of advanced knowledge in the field of ethnology and anthropology of the city.

2. Obtaining knowledge of the specifics of this and methodological with particular emphasis on research directions , ways of collecting empirical data and its interpretation in the context of cultural analysis of the city.

3. Improving the workshop ethnological based on the ability to analyze and interpret texts in the field of ethnology / anthropology of the city.

4. Developing knowledge about the current condition of ethnology / anthropology cities in Poland and in the world .

5. Developing knowledge about the relationship of ethnology / anthropology of the city with other disciplines involved in the city.

Short description:

A series of activities based on the basic assumptions of theoretical and empirical ethnological educated on the basis of urban studies . Among other issues are discussed development of the city as a sub-discipline of anthropology ethnological in Poland and abroad , as well as the most important processes occurring in contemporary cities such as globalization, revitalization, gentrification , etc.

1. History and main areas of study of ethnology / anthropology of the city.

2. Trade anthropology of the city with other sciences .

3. Urban regeneration and social space planning .

4. Gentrification .

5. Local Cities and metropolitan areas .

6. Diaspora and ethnic minorities in the city.

7. Foreigners in cities.

8. Tourism City .

9. urban movements .

10. The city as a space for art .

Learning outcomes:

After completing the course, the student :

1. It has the advanced knowledge of ethnology / anthropology of the city.

2. Appropriately uses terminology and analytical procedures relating to cultural phenomena / social changes in the Outback town .

3. recognizes the interdisciplinary relationship of ethnology / anthropology of the city with other sciences .

4. Can formulate their own opinions and judgments based on texts from the field of ethnology / anthropology of the city.

5. Able to carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of various processes occurring in using available sources of existing and custom research

6. Be aware of the level of their knowledge and skills in the use of ethnological research ( theory and methods ) in relation to the issue of transport.

It has the ability to analyze texts ethnological / anthropological and social sciences range of other issues taking over the city .
