Short description:

Legal aspects of distribution and usage of cosmetics: act about cosmetics and its harmonization with European Directive. Decree on the substances included in cosmetics: (a) substances that are forbidden to use, (b) substances permitted to be used in restricted quantities, range and usage (c) permitted dyes, (d) permitted preservatives, (e) radiation protective substances permitted to be used in cosmetics. Label content on the cosmetics wrapping; design of graphical signs; bar codes. Legislation concerning laboratory testing and certification. Legal aspects related to quality control (chemical and microbiological purity). Inspection on cosmetics: National System of Information on Cosmetics introduced into commodity circulation; National Sanitary Inspection, Trade Inspection, National Institute of Hygiene.
Full description:

Presentation of the information on the legal aspects of distribution and usage of cosmetics. Becoming acquainted with legal acts on cosmetics and their updates, substance that are forbidden to use or permitted to use in restricted quantities, range and upon special conditions. LEARNING OUTCOMES: Completion of this course results in gaining: 1. Knowledge and understanding of the legal aspects of distribution and usage of cosmetics. 2. Ability to read labels on cosmetics wrappings. 3. Aptitude to select the raw materials, active and base substances for a given function of cosmetic products. 4. Knowledge and differentiating of cosmetics substances and methods of quality assessment.
